Community Achievement Award Winner

The Get Bill Smart Project delivered by Sustainable Living Tasmania in partnership with Mission Australia and University of Tasmania (UTAS) has just won the environment award at the Tasmanian Community Achievement Awards.  This award recognises the community based capacity building approach and home retrofit energy efficiency solutions as delivering outstanding environmental outcomes.  More information on the project and its findings can be found here.

The award rewards the tremendous effort of the consortium: Mission Australia, UTAS, Sustainable Living Tasmania and LIEEP team.

We would like to specially thank the community champions in Clarendon Vale and Rokeby.  Twelve fine humans who made this possible.

We would like to specially than the UTAS research team led by Dr Phillipa Watson and including Dr Millie Rooney, and Dr Michelle Gabrielle.  RED Sustainability including Steve Watson and Garth Coghlan also provided excellent technical and analytical services.

Mission Australia, notably Noel Mundy, Julie Campbell and Matt Durose were invaluable for providing guidance and support throughout this four year project.

This project would not be possible without the hard work of the team at Sustainable Living Tasmania, including Todd Houstein, Kate Willis, Jodi Alexander, Nadish Kariyawasam, Maria Firriolo and Anton Vikstrom.

We would also like to thank the award sponsors Ricoh Business Center and Bentleys Accountants and Auditors.  Further details on the awards are available from www.awardsaustralia.com
